Kaybee: I’m All About Girl Talk

Girl Talk’s fourth album, Feed the Animals, is out! It turns out that I don’t acually MIND being referred to as an animal. The things you put up with for good music….

Ian and I went to his sold-out show at the Fox in Boulder. Usually whenever we go to shows we’ve both been working all day, we get there early and have to wait for the shitty opening band for two hours, the real music doesn’t start till 11, I get bored/sleepy after an hour and bully him into leaving. This time? Totally different. Not your typical Boulder scene: people dressed up in crazy outfits and there weren’t clouds of weed smoke hanging over the audience for the duration. They appeared to be on ecstasy instead.

Things I learned: 1) Security doesn’t like it when half the mosh pit jumps onto the stage and starts dancing within the first 30 seconds of the show. 2) Security REALLY doesn’t like it when you ignore their initial shoo-offs and start waving scarves in their faces. 3) My boyfriend does a really good booty-drop. Mm-mmm.
